Zaro came out of stealth with a hard story to tell. The founding team had helped build Salesforce's Agentforce, then walked away from the vendor model to build its opposite: a company-owned AI workspace that gives customers a persistent, compounding context layer.
The pre-seed round announcement was the opportunity for Zaro to definitively name their category. If they didn't, someone else would.
The round was led by Cherry Ventures, with angel backers including Thomas Wolf (Hugging Face) and the GitHub founders.
Wrote and iterated the release through v1 to final v11, plus founder bios and media materials. Core framing held throughout: not "another AI agent startup," but the company building shared memory and a context layer for enterprise AI.
Shot Michael Bajwa and Qian Zheng (individually and together) on site, six retouched final images that became the visual identity of the announcement. Also produced the press/media kit headshots.
Prepared the founders for the Sifted exclusive with Freya Pratty using Q&A battlecards addressing competitive comparisons against legacy vendor agent platforms.
Built a live media tracker, not a one-off report, using Zaro's own tech.
Broad, positive coverage that compounded. Day-of coverage (TNW, Sifted, Tech.eu, Fortune, etc.) plus a sustained multilingual tail into July/August, with the "shared context/memory" framing holding across languages.
The positioning spine now traced through all five deliverables:
Press release
Photography
Media training
Media tracker
Content
With the post-announcement content acting as the mechanism that kept the argument compounding in Zaro's own voice after the news cycle ended.
